Introduction of Stainless Steel 304L Forged Fittings
It is the most versatile and widely used of all SS forged fittings. Its chemical composition, mechanical attributes, corrosion and oxidation resistance, weldability provides the best all round performance. These fittings have excellent low temperature properties and perform well to hardening by a cold working operation. Its chemical composition is carefully controlled of various grades that provide a large range of cold work hardenability enables it to suit for various applications without cyclic annealing operations.
Stainless Steel S30403 Socket weld Fittings show good welding properties. The post welding operations are not required to attain excellent performance of these fittings in a wide range of mild corrosive environments. While these fittings do not require post weld annealing, it finds extensive use in heavy gauge engineering applications where freedom from carbide precipitation is needed.
The annealing of Stainless Steel 304L Forged Fittings is achieved by heating above 1900 deg for limited temperatures. This operation is followed by rapid water quenching. The best corrosion resistance properties are achieved by performing annealing operation above this temperature. Controlled operation environment is recommended in order to avoid excessive oxidation.
It is the lower carbon grade of 304 series. These fittings can be stress relieved at temperatures at 850 deg F to 1150 deg F.
