Alloy stainless steel 904L that is also called as UNS N088904 is the super austenitic stainless steel. It is developed for average to high corrosion resistant in the extensive ranges of process atmosphere. The combination of nickel and chromium with the addition of other alloying elements like molybdenum, copper assures excellent corrosion resistance.

With the greater alloyed with nickel of 25% and molybdenum of 4.5% this alloy is providing very good chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance, general corrosion, pitting resistant ability. This alloy is developed for the purpose of withstanding atmosphere having diluted sulfuric acid. Also, it is offering very good resistance ability to inorganic acids like host phosphoric acid and organic acid as well. This alloy can be welded easily and is processed through the technique named as standard shop fabrication process.
