General description of alloy-
The impact strength of Super Duplex Steel SAF 2507 is also high. This grade is not recommended for the applications which need exposure to higher temperatures in the temperature ranges up to 570 deg F because there is a risk of reduction in toughness. It has the lower carbon content that lowers the risk of carbide precipitation at the grain boundaries after heat treatments. Thus, this alloy is highly resistive to carbide relates intergranular attacks. Super Duplex Steel SAF 2507 Tubes have excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC). These tubes are especially useful in the offshore applications and as well as in the natural brine levels. Because of the high chromium content, it becomes extremely resistive to uniform corrosion by organic compounds like acetic acids and formic acid. This grade also provides resistance to inorganic compounds that contain high levels of chlorides. Because of its good weldability, most of the welding operations can be performed on it. It also serves the best service in the pitting corrosive field. These tubes are made from the cold and hot forming operation. These tubes are solution annealed and quenched after cold and hot forming operation. The annealing operation is followed immediately by water
