It is precipitation hardened austenitic steel bars produced for critical applications that provide different flavors for particular applications. These bars are ready to machine than nickel based precipitation hardening grades or other grades. It has higher creep and excellent corrosion resistance and scaling resistance in the air up to 800 deg C. these bars are extensively used in most high stress component situations in the chemical processing industries. These bars have marked the degree of general corrosion resistance.

This alloy has two important elements nickel and chromium. The chromium content is added to the steel to increase resistance to oxidation. The resistance ability increases as more chromium content. The nickel is added in high amount to form the most important class of corrosion and heat resistance. The effect of nickel to form austenite that leads to high strength and greater toughness. the alloy has also important elements is titanium. The main purpose of alloying elements in steel is for carbide stabilization.
It is combined with carbon to form titanium carbides which are quite stable and hard to dissolve. This alloy tends to prevent tie up corrosion resistance in chromium as intergranular carbides and accompanying loss of corrosion resistance at the grain boundaries. At last, the manganese is added to it to improve hot working properties and increase strength, hardenability, and toughness. It has improved pitting corrosion resistance, especially by sulfur and chlorides.
