Principal features of alloy:
Hastelloy C22 is one of the well known and well proven molybdenum and chromium materials. Its chief attributes include resistance to oxidization and non-oxidizing chemicals. It offers great protection from the crevice and pitting corrosion attacks. Also, it has resistance to stress corrosion cracking. In addition to chromium content provides higher resistance to oxidizing agents.
This alloy imparts exceptional resistance to chloride-induced pitting. Unlike other alloys, it has very good ductility and excellent weldability. This alloy is readily weldable with all standard operations even with or without filler materials. It has a property of fabricability, thus it can be fabricable with all standard machines associated with this grade. It requires standard speeds and depth cuts for machining operation. This alloy is suitable for the chemical process even in the welded conditions.
It has excellent local and general corrosion resistance. Primarily, this alloy is known for service in the chemical processing industries. It offers service in harsh chemicals such as nitric acids, phosphoric acids, sulfuric acids, and other organic and inorganic compounds. Moreover, it has good resistance to dilute oxidizing acids such as acetic acids, ferric acids, cupric acids, and chlorides.
This alloy is employed in applications where excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion is required. It is resistive to reducing conditions and prevents aqueous corrosion. A small amount of C-22 alloy is analyzed to measure its corrosion resistance. However, this alloy with limited composition provides improved functionality.
Hastelloy N06022 Round Bars are used in the chlorination plants and water induced applications. These bars offer superior resistance to reducing media offered in the process streams. Due to its large flexibility, it can be subjected to the severe conditions that normally occurred in industrial applications. The elevated resistance of these bars also resists the production of grain precipitates in the welded zones. Because of its high thermal stability, it is used in the higher temperature applications.
