ASTM A182 F11 Forged Fittings description-
ASTM A182 F11 provides useful resistance to corrosion on a wide range of moderately oxidizing to moderately reducing environments. These fittings are composed of mechanical properties, weldability, resistance ability and lot more. These fittings offer reliable service in most demanding and critical applications. These fittings have excellent down temperature properties and perform well in working condition. These have controlled alloying chemistry with the composition of various grades. This provides a great range of cold working hardenability that enables it to apply in various applications without annealing operations. This grade has excellent welding properties. The post weld annealing is not needed to attain the excellent performance in the wide range of mild corrosive environments. These forged fittings find useful in heavy gauge applications without any worry of carbide precipitation. The annealing operation is performed for 60 minutes per inch thickness and followed by water quenching. The optimum corrosion resistance is attained when the final annealing operation is performed. These operations are performed in the controlled temperatures to avoid excessive oxidation. The manufactured range of forged fittings should be stressed relieved with little cause of sensitization. If the stress relieving is carried out, then there is a serious threat of grain boundary sensitization that can cause in loss of corrosion resistance properties.
